Description
In the winter, Gamilaraay musician Thelma Plum came to visit Wilyakali country to make photographs for her new album. It was the coldest week of the year, and rained almost the entire time. At the end of a freezing, windy first day of photographing, we arrived at the old homestead and just as the sun began to set the clouds parted and we were able to catch on camera the elusive outback light that Broken Hill is so famous for. Another one of the photographs made at this time went on to become the album cover. This photo was made on medium format film, on a rolleicord camera.
